Hi Evelyn, It's good to read your book review, but this may not be the response you were looking for: the part that I'm most curious about is this: "my fiance was working out in our living-room/gym"😁
I'd love to hear the story of you two love birds becoming engaged. It may be a fun scene to write🥰♥️🙏🕊️
Haha it is something I will have to write one of these days. It’s still pretty fresh so I’m basically all a flutter with love right now. Not much in the way of useful brain activity.
“Endings are rarely the end. They are just the transformation from one thing into another.” 😮💨 This line hit me hard in the best possible way. And congrats on the engagement!!! I love y’all’s love 🥹😍💘
A wonderful review my dear. I enjoy your non-fiction voice, it’s sassy. I also think it was very cute that you referred to me as your fiancé, you just couldn’t hold it on could ya? Hehe ❤️😘🐥
You do a better job of selling books than their eye-popping cover art does.
That this novel features a debilitating mental health struggle alongside family unyielding in their love and support encourages me. Even though these characters are fictional, I imagine many readers find parts of themselves and their struggles in them, and I’d like to think it sends a good message when a character going through tough times has compassionate people in their corner.
Oh, the people aren’t always compassionate - thats what makes it so real. It’s the real human struggle of trying to love fragile people when you are sometimes fragile too. It’s a very good read. And thank you, that is high praise.
Oh, Martha indeed! Such an arrangement is fiction even in fiction, but of course, that tension makes for a compelling read. Thanks for clarifying my optimistic misread :)
Yes indeed, life IS just like that. Never resolved, never arriving, never fixed. Love it when an author resists the temptation to wrap things up in a bow.
And this is spot on. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
“Whatever the mental illness is, is simply not the point. The profound effect it has had on Martha and her life is.”

It’s my favourite thing! Authors must resist the temptation to resolve I think.
Thank you!!
